Quality Sized Bears
Widely recognized
as one of the premier black bear outfitters of Alberta, if not Canada, Plihal's
Frank Lake Guiding and Outfitting has regularly received awards and accolades
not the least of which are two consecutive provincial championships (2004
& 2005) for largest bear in Pope and Young and Boone and Crockett division
respectively of the annual Alberta Professional Outfitters' trophy competition.
Add to this another first place finish in 1996 and one harvested skull in
1999 that measured 21 11/16 which didn't place, you get some idea of the monsters
harvested in our camp.

Your Chance at a Great Hunt!
Trophy after trophy,
giant bears of blonde, cinnamon, brown, chocolate and, of course, black colour
phase. With quality and quantity baits as well as year round scouting of protected
hunt sites and monitoring of giant bear movements, our marquee hunt features
attention to detail in preparation for your hunt.
We put the time
in to make sure clients aren't just shooting another bear. Cheaper hunts?
Sure, there are some, but the old cliche "You get what you pay for"
doesn't only apply to cars.
We take a maximum
of 18 bear hunters per year and no more than 6 per week in areas we have continually
baited since 1988 in our quest to be at the top again for 2008, 2009....
Once you book,
you'll be back again time and time again, as with Herb Coombs of Maine who
has hunted with us for 17 years and has five of the 10 largest bears shot
in our camp.
